چکیده
Introduction The clinical data is increasing at a considerably higher rate than the capacity of healthcare system and clinicians to manage this data. Digital tools such as decision support systems (CDSS) provide opportunities for evidence-based patient care by intelligently filtering presenting information required making point care. Despite success pilot projects, CDSS have had limited implementation in broader health systems. We aimed identify challenges faced policymakers policy recommendations. Methods conducted eleven semi-structured interviews with Australian from state national committees involved digital activities. were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis priorities. Results Our findings indicate that fragmentation processes structures ecosystem one main impediments delivering coordinated CDSS. Five themes action identified: (i) establishing shared conceptual framework user-centered design aligned stakeholders’ priorities, (ii) maintaining right balance between customization standardization systems, (iii) developing mutually agreed semantic interoperability standards local, level, allowing generation exchange across without changing its context meaning, (iv) reorienting organizational build foster change, (v) collaborative models avoid conflicting interests stakeholders. Conclusions Findings highlight importance system-wide guidance establish clear vision alignment all levels There need modelling innovative activities landscape which minimizes operational strategic different organizations.

Background: Clinician compliance with clinical guidelines in the treatment of patients with Hepatitis C (HCV) has been reported to be as low as 18.5%. Treatment is complex and patient compliance is often inconsistent thus, active clinician surveillance and support is essential to successful outcomes. A clinical decision support system (CDSS) embedded within an electronic health record can provi...

PURPOSE Despite their efficacy, some recommended therapies are underused. The purpose of this paper is to describe clinical decision support system (CDSS) development and its impact on clinical guideline adherence. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH A new CDSS was developed and introduced in a cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) in 2003, which provided physicians with patient-tailored reminders and p...

The recent success of genome-wide association studies in finding susceptibility genes for many common diseases presents tremendous opportunities for epidemiologic studies of environmental risk factors. Analysis of gene-environment interactions, included in only a small fraction of epidemiologic studies until now, will begin to accelerate as investigators integrate analyses of genome-wide variat...
